Arid Lands Resource Management Project (ALRMP) II was launched nationally in October 2003 and in Turkana district in February 2004. Implementation of ALRMP II activities started in earnest during second half of FY 2003/4 (January ?June 2004). Project implementation has been getting better and better in each subsequent financial year from FY 2003/4 to date.
This progress report covers interventions / activities implemented by ALRMP II in Turkana from inception to date i.e. from year 03/04 to 05/06 year under the various project components i.e. Natural Resource and Drought management; Community Driven Development and Support to Local Development. Besides the activities under the three components above, a number of Monitoring & Evaluation and Coordination support activities were implemented and reported in this annual progress report.
Apart from the regular ALRMP activities, ALRMP II Turkana also implemented a number of activities funded by other development partners, i.e. UN agencies ? FAO, UNDP and WFP.
